I was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs. I attended Indiana University where I was a member of the men's cross-country and track and field teams and I graduated with honors with a degree in chemistry. I then attended Rush Medical College in Chicago where I graduated in 2000. Next, I completed my psychiatry residency at Stanford University Hospital where I served as chief resident. I then completed my forensic psychiatry fellowship at U.C. Davis. I enjoy hikes with my dog, creative writing and scuba diving adventures. I opened my private practice in 2005.
